Amanda Martin elected as the new Labour MP for Portsmouth North

Portsmouth local, Amanda Martin was elected by residents across Portsmouth North with a swing of 18.1%. Amanda a former city primary school teacher said: 

“I want to thank everyone across Portsmouth North who have put their trust in me.

I’m honoured to represent my home city, where everyone I love lives.

I am excited to continue my work with local residents for a brighter future.

Whether you voted for me or not, I will work to serve you and to stand up for everyone across Portsmouth”.

Amanda Martin took the seat with 14,495 votes (34.8%), beating the candidates for Reform UK (20.4%) and the Conservatives (33%).

Running a positive campaign on the issues that matter to local people Amanda has earned the trust to represent her home city. The work to restore politics as a force for good starts now.
