Amanda Martin MP has announced the winners of her 2024 Christmas card competition for all school-aged children across Portsmouth North.

The Christmas card theme this year was ‘Christmas in Portsmouth’. Young people across Portsmouth North were asked to send in their designs to Amanda for judging, with hundreds of entries received from different schools.

The Portsmouth North MP visited the winners’ schools and each of the runners-up schools to present prizes at their respective locations: Highbury Primary School in Cosham, Copnor Primary in Copnor, and New Horizons in Fratton.

The winner, Dominic (from Highbury), won first place for his fantastic drawing of a Pompey football wearing a Santa hat. Dominic is in Year 4 at Copnor Primary. Toriana, Odin, Nelly, Saoirse, and Maolonika all claimed the runner-up spots for their colorful drawings of Portsmouth.

The winning entry is featured as the design for Amanda’s official Christmas card. The card is being sent to hundreds of individuals and organizations across the constituency and the country, with a copy sent to His Majesty the King.

Commenting, Portsmouth North MP Amanda Martin said:

“I am delighted to announce the winners of my first Christmas card competition since becoming the MP for the area where everyone I love lives. The winner and runners-up all had fantastic entries in my annual Christmas card competition.”

“As a massive Pompey fan, Dominic’s entry stood out among this year’s submissions. With the Pompey blue background and football wearing a Santa hat, I couldn’t not pick Dominic as the winner.”

Amanda also thanked every school that participated, noting that the judging was particularly hard! Congratulations to Dominic and all the runners-up!
